• Strong in fundamentals of TCP/IP protocol suites
• Day-to-day troubleshooting network issues
• Concept of other network/security protocols like SSL, SSH, FTP (SFTP/FTPS is added advantage), SNMP
• Basic scripting knowledge - Shell or perl or expect
• CCNA Certification
• Network device monitoring - SNMP based monitoring tools

Responsibilities:

• New equipment and environment installation.
• Monitoring network devices using SNMP tools
• Establishes partner connectivity by installation/setup of new circuit, IPSec tunnel, defining, documenting, and enforcing
• system standards.
• Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling
• upgrades; collaborating with network architect on network optimization.
• Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; ensuring compliance of all active network equipment.
• Accomplishes information systems and organization goal by completing related results as needed.
• Reporting network operational status by gathering, analyzing and publishing network statistics.
• Runs audit and analysis on network health in scheduled fashion.
