Required Candidate Skills :
- Relevant University degree, preferably in computer science, e-learning, educational technology, or English.
- International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) or Certified Software Tester (CSTE) or other relevant software testing certificate preferable.
- Thorough understanding of educational software functionality, with editorial experience desirable.
- Thorough understanding of web technologies.
- Thorough understanding of mobile technologies and their advantages and limitations.
- Direct work experience in a software user acceptance testing role preferred.
- Understanding on different testing processes, types and strategies an advantage.
- Understanding of issue logging systems such as JIRA, their purpose, types and functionalities, would be beneficial, but can be trained.

Job Description:
- The role of the Digital Product Tester is to work as part of a global digital product development team, assessing the suitability of software-based English Language Teaching products to be released.
- This role will play a key part in ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with quality standards, involving a range of quality assurance activities including content and functional checks, logging and tracking issues and reporting defects to developers in a systematic way.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Software Testing
The Digital Product Tester will support the Project Coordinators, based primarily in Cambridge, in ensuring that all software has been fully and comprehensively reviewed and is complying with the design documents and passes required tests. This includes:
Assessing new products to ensure they are suitable for formal testing.
Performing unstructured testing to imitate user-like behaviour and maximise the chance of finding severe issues.
Performing structured testing in accordance with pre-defined test scripts.
Completing test scripts and analysing the number of test cases passed and failed.
Reporting and managing issues in JIRA.
Performing regression testing on software builds delivered by the developer, to ensure previous functionality and content has not been compromised by further development.
Advising on the overall product quality following the final issue fixes in preparation for product sign-off.
Quality Assurance Reporting
The Digital Product Tester will play an essential role in gathering and maintaining the resulting data from both structured and unstructured tests. To fulfill this responsibility, the Digital Product Tester will:
Complete end of testing reports in the correct format using specific documentation.
Complete and analyse test scripts used during testing phases.
Review test data received from the external test houses.
