Required Candidate Skills:
- Experience deploying web applications on JBoss or other middleware platforms
- Excellent knowledge of Linux scripting and Perl/Python scripting
- Knowledge of packaging tools such as rpm
- Knowledge of SCM/Version Control Systems such as SVN, CVS or Git
- Experience building Java application using Maven or Ant
Job Profile:
- Deploy applications to production and non production environments. Troubleshoot application server issues related to the platform. Create support tickets and work with vendors as needed.
- Manage the daily operation of Java Application Servers. Monitor resource utilization, including such items as CPU, memory, and disk utilization. Report on system utilization and plan/implement recommended maintenance as required. Perform impact analysis for appropriate tasks.
- Work with other teams in the design and configuration of secure access to JBoss resources.
- Apply and promote patches.
- Develop, test, and implement automation scripts (Perl and Python).
- Support day-to-day data integration through WebServices, JBoss JMS operations with our partners and clients, including identifying any technical problems with inbound/outbound transmissions.
- Troubleshoot and research problems through log file mining and analysis.
- Work with Developers and Database Administrators in the implementation of new applications. Identify impact to capacity.
- Maintain documentation related to infrastructure and architecture of web systems.
- Assist in recommendations and execution for disaster recovery of web environments.
- Become familiar with IT operations and make recommendations for improvement where appropriate.
- JBoss, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD Server, Perl, Python, IBM WebSphere Application Server, XML and CRON knowledge a plus.
- Flexibility to work in shifts to co-incide with North America work timings.
