Basic Requirements

• A need to know how things work, a desire to fix them if they dont and an urge to improve them!
• Expect to achieve, or already have, a 2:1 honours degree (or better) in electrical or electronic engineering
• A passion for IT
• A keen interest in technology generally; a hunger to develop your knowledge of storage technology such that you fully understand our existing products and contribute to innovation in our new products
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Excellent problem solving skills with a willingness to take ownership of difficult problems
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Willing to travel overseas

Additional Requirements

• The following requirements are beneficial but not essential:
• An understanding of the benefits and drawback of various PCB materials, PCB stack-ups, layout, signal routing, manufacture and test
• A knowledge of signal integrity and measurement at > 10GB/s data rates
• A knowledge of Intel x86 processor chipsets
• An understanding of test strategies for motherboards
• An understanding of serial interfaces such as PCIe Gen 3, SATA, SAS, DDR 1, 2 or 3
• Knowledge of VHDL design for CPLDs and FPGAs
• Knowledge of power management
• Knowledge of schematic capture, circuit analysis and tolerancing using Cadence or Mentor toolsets
• Practical experience in any of the above is advantageous.
