Required Candidate Skills :
- Skills in Win2000/Win2003/Win2008 system administration.
- Experience with Software installation, configuration, and administration of IIS
- Knowledge of systems and network security principles, and general systems administration best practices.
- Knowledge in Scripting (Perl, VB scripting or other).
- Strong knowledge of database design, and SQL programming.
- Strong documentation and record keeping skills, with extreme attention to detail.
- The ideal candidate has good communication skills and is able to learn new technology quickly and thoroughly, and is equally able to work as a team member or tackle a complex project individually.
- The ability to work in an energetic, fast paced and interrupt driven environment, with openness to the demands and rewards of a 24 x 7 workplace, including working in the night shift. Willingness to join on-call 24 x 7 pager rotation.
- Goal-oriented attitude and demeanor to work through roadblocks, motivate external concerns and bring about resolution
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or diploma in computer science.
- Up to 1 year of experience in job specific skills.
- Experience working in a 24 x 7 Data Center environment.
- Understanding of Firewalls, Load Balancers, switches, and network design.
- Database programming skills using PL/SQL or T-SQL
- MCP/MCSA/MCSE in Windows 2003/2008.
- Linux system administration skills are a plus.
- Experience with monitoring tools (PRTG, SiteScope, MOM, Nagios, IPSentry, MRTG, ActiveBatch, etc..) is a plus.
- MS SQL and Oracle configuration, troubleshooting, and tuning skills are a strong plus.
- Experience supporting large relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, mySQL) is a plus.
Job Description:
- Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, configuration and operation of selected systems.
- Perform all backups and recovery for the hosted environment.
- Provide backend support for the systems to internal customers
- Monitor system performance and capacity; provide input for needed expansion or alternative configurations to support additional storage, database capacity, or web server capacity needs.
- Optimize system availability, security, and performance for selected systems.
